What to Expect on  a  Sunday Morning

What to Expect on  a  Sunday Morning

Our mission is to make much of Jesus in Woodstock. So that's what you can expect to happen on Sunday mornings. Our worship service is focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to make Jesus the main thing in all we do.

Our services are an hour and a half long.

We dress pretty casually. Just come as you are!

Every Sunday we open the Bible to hear a practical message from God’s Word.

We take the Lord's Supper (Communion) every Sunday.

Every other Sunday, there is a Fellowship Meal after service.

We have children's church every Sunday during the sermon. Children ages 2 to 2nd grade are welcome to attend downstairs. We have a nursery room for children 2 years old and younger where parents can go with their children (no childcare workers). The service is streamed to this room.

Our Services Follow the Story of Redemption

Our service seeks to draw us into the story of redemption through its elements:

  • Call to Worship: Our “Call to Worship” recalls God creating all things for His glory and for humanity to experience blessedness through worshiping Him.
  • Singing of Praises: We respond in faith to God’s purposes in creation and worship Him in song.
  • Confession of Sin: We confess our sin recalling the fall of man and as an acknowledgement of our participation in it and need for personal redemption and restoration.
  • Assurance of Pardon: We hear Scripture’s assurance of pardon for all those trusting in Christ recalling His victorious triumph over sin, Satan and death on our behalf.
  • Reading of Scripture and Prayer: We hear the Word of God read affirming our belief in Christ’s redeeming and renewing power trusting in the Holy Spirit to help us walk in His ways.
  • Singing of Praises: We offer our worship in song as those redeemed and renewed in and through Jesus Christ.
  • Teaching of Scripture: We preach and make known the Holy Scriptures believing they are God’s gracious gift to reveal Himself in Jesus Christ to us and guide us in His ways.
  • The Lord’s Supper: We celebrate the Lord’s Supper in faith believing that Christ has given His body and blood to accomplish our forgiveness and grant us eternal life in Himself.
  • Singing of Praises: We offer our sacrifice of praise in joyful response to God’s redeeming grace to us in Jesus Christ.
